MOTORISTS are being warned to be on alert for flood water after heavy rain.
The West Stafford bypass, near Dorchester, is still closed due to flooding and there are also flood warnings in place for rivers and streams in west Dorset.
The bypass is closed between Bockhampton Lane and Highgate Lane.
Police are urging residents and motorists to take care in flood water and not to drive into it.
It comes after the county escaped a major deluge of snow and rain that hit other parts of the south west and the UK.
