Rail passengers on the Weymouth to London Waterloo line were delayed after a person was hit by a train at Hinton Admiral.
The incident brought disruption to rail services between Southampton and Bournemouth.
Initially, South West Trains cancelled services between Brockenhurst and Bournemouth, with buses provided instead. The line was re-opened later in the day but the company said there were ‘residual delays’ of up to 30 minutes, with buses continuing to supplement the rail service.
