THE Proteans perform their annual and incredibly popular outdoor Shakespeare in Walled Garden at Down Grange this month.

As part of the 2013 Basingstoke Festival, the group, the talented workshop company and community adult drama group affiliated to Proteus Theatre Company, present The Merry Wives of Windsor. Proteus’ artistic director, Mary Swan, directs.

Experience a tale of love, marriage, jealousy and revenge told with slapstick humour, songs and The Proteans’ own brand of theatrical magic.

You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the sunshine before the show. If the weather doesn’t co-operate, performances will be move to the new Proteus Creation Space, Council Road (formally Fairfields Arts Centre).

Wear comfortable shoes, bring some warm clothes for when the sun goes down and if the weather looks a bit indecisive, give Proteus a call on for an update as to where the performance will take place.

A limited amount of chairs will be provided but Proteus advise audience members to bring their own to guarantee a seat.

Performances take place from June 21– 23, and June 28-30, Friday and Saturdays at 7pm (bring a picnic and chairs from 6pm), and Sunday at 2pm (bring a picnic and chairs from 1pm).

Tickets priced £10 for adults, £6 for students and children, can be purchased online via wegottickets.com/proteustheatre or from the Creation Space.
