THESE car enthusiasts are gearing up to show off their treasured motors at this weekend’s Abingdon Works Car Show.
Members of the Abingdon branch of the MG Car Club will be among scores of drivers heading to the event on Sunday to celebrate cars made at the town’s factory between 1930 and 1980.
MG Car Club spokesman George Woodward said: “It is going to be a great celebration of all the cars that originally came out of Abingdon and it will be great to see them coming back for this special day.”
The show will run from 10am at the Rye Farm Meadow on the south bank of the Thames near the Nag’s Head pub.
The show has been revived by the Abingdon Rotary Club and the MG Car Club to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance and other charitable causes.
Families will also be able to enjoy a fun fair, food from Throwing Buns cafe and Secret Pizza Society and a pint from the Loose Cannon Brewery and The Brewery Tap.
