Weymouth Carnival souvenir programmes out now
READ all about it – Weymouth Carnival news is out now!
Organisers preparing for the summer extravaganza next week are promoting the sale of official souvenir carnival programmes.
They’re a must for anyone visiting the town on carnival day, Wednesday, August 21 and wanting to find what’s going on, when and where. There’s also a chance to win a holiday if you buy a programme.
Produced in association with the Dorset Echo, the 48-page full colour brochures are £2.
They are being sold along with prize draw tickets and the We Love Weymouth Carnival wristbands, both £1.
Weymouth Carnival is a family day raising money for local charities. Entertainment includes the Red Arrows, live music, beach sports, games and competitions, the grand parade and firework display.
Diane Moore, from the carnival committee, said: “We’d encourage people to buy a programme. This will give them all the information they need, be a souvenir to take away, and support us raising money for good causes.”
There are sections in the programme about the new carnival committee, useful contact numbers and local information, a map and event guide, carnival queen feature and what to expect in the procession this year.
People who purchase a programme are also in with a chance of winning a Haven Holiday. All they have to do is fill out their details in the coupon on page 11 and drop it off at one of the carnival draw stands along the seafront on the day.
Programmes, wristbands and draw tickets are being sold in the run-up to carnival on the seafront stall. The team will also be at Morrisons on Saturday and Monday and at Asda on Tuesday, from 11am-4pm each day. Programmes are also available from Londis in Westham Road.
