COASTGUARD ROUND-UP: Rescue helicopter tasked to Lulworth cliffs
A PERSON was airlifted to safety after becoming stuck on cliffs near Lulworth Cove.
Coastguards were tasked to rescue two people from Stair Hole following numerous 999 calls.
Rescue teams and the Portland Coastguard Rescue Helicopter scrambled to the scene.
One casualty was airlifted from the cliff and taken to the beach whilst the other climbed down unaided.
The incident happened at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.
Coastguards were later called to a report of a speedboat acting dangerously in Ringstead.
The boat had departed before crews arrived at the scene.
The incident happened at around 4pm.
Elsewhere, Poole Bay RNLI Lifeguards were tasked to check a small inflatable with a man onboard near Poole Harbour entrance.
On arrival at around 4.30pm yesterday, they found the man to be in no difficulty.
Coastguards were also called to help a paddle boarder south of Southbourne Beach.
Crews helped the woman, who had been caught in a rip current, to safety.
The incident happened at around 7.30pm.
