COASTGUARDS were called to help a diver and unmanned dingy.

Portland Coastguard received a call reporting an inflatable dinghy floating unmanned off the Swanage coast.

Motor boat Hurley Burley found the 2.6 metre dinghy afloat off Old Harry rocks and alerted the coastguard yesterday afternoon.

The owners were found searching for their dingy in another vessel and were reunited with it.

Coastguards also received a report of a missing diver off Chesil Beach.

Portland Bill Coastguards were sent to investigate after the diver was reported to have entered the water off Chesil Beach at sunset yesterday and was not seen to come out.

Anglers further along the beach said they had seen the same diver leave the water closer to Chesil Cove.
