Woman fights for life after collision between pedestrian and cyclist

A 60-year-old female pedestrian is fighting for life after she was involved in a collision with a cyclist in Purbeck this morning.
The woman from the Bedford area was rushed to Southampton General Hospital suffering from "serious, life threatening injuries" following the crash on Coombe Lane at the junction with Three Acre Lane at Langton Matravers.
She was airlifted from the scene and taken to hospital via the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The 61-year-old male cyclist from the Bournemouth area suffered "serious, but not life-threatening injuries" and was taken to Poole General Hospital.
The incident took place at 11.10am near a bus stop.
The road has been closed and is likely to be closed well into the afternoon, possibly for the next four hours.
There are nine police officers at the scene. Diversions are in place and traffic is being re-routed.
