Coastguards helped to rescue a woman who had fallen and injured her wrist while walking along the Jurassic Coast.
At 4pm yesterday the coastguards received two 999 calls reporting the woman had fallen and injured her wrist while walking in the area of Swyre Head, west of Durdle Door.
Coastguard rescue officers from Lulworth attended the casualty and transported her to a waiting South West Ambulance for further treatment.
Earlier that afternoon the coastguard Maritime Rescue and Co-ordination Centre in Weymouth had kept in regular radio communication with the yacht Munkenbeck.
The vessel had developed an engine problem whilst sailing from Lyme Bay to Weymouth Harbour. The coastguards kept a track on her throughout her journey to make sure she got to harbour safetly.
This morning coastguards received a call from a worried dog owner.
The caller was concern that her pet Golden Retriever had swum a long way out at Bowleaze Cove. Fortunately the dog soon turned around and returned to shore just after 7.30am.
