Couple to spend honeymoon weekend at Dorset County Show

A BRIDE and groom to be will be spending their first weekend as a married couple at the Dorset County Show.
Jodie Membury and Jordan Thorpe will be tying the knot in Dorchester on Friday, September 6 and have chosen the Dorset County Show as the destination for their honeymoon weekend.
The couple, who have been together for nearly nine years, have both been regular visitors to the show since they were babies and have been going as a couple for the last seven years.
Despite their impending wedding falling on the eve of the show, 26-year-old Jodie refused to let that interfere with their plans to go along this year.
She said: “It’s our favourite weekend of the year.
“There’s always so much to do: great food, animals, shopping, spending time with friends and family.
“There’s also the cider tent – a favourite of my fiancé's!.”
The long term weather forecast looks positive for the 2013 show, which is being held on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8, but Jodie says come rain or shine they are determined to enjoy the weekend.
She said: “Even if sometimes it’s a bit muddy it’s a fantastic weekend and we absolutely love going, especially because we can take our bull terrier Remi, who enjoys it even more than we do!
“Our plan is to celebrate the first weekend of our marriage at the show and then go on a proper honeymoon early next year.”
Jodie is a gymnastics coach and says she enjoys the show because it is the last weekend on the calendar before term time starts.
In recognition of the couple’s decision to spend their first weekend of their married life at the Dorset County Show, organisers have provided them with a pair of VIP tickets.
