COASTGUARD ROUND-UP: Boats suffer engine failure
COASTGUARDS were alerted to two boats suffering from engine failure.
A mayday signal was sent out by a yacht that suffered engine failure close to the entrance to Poole Harbour.
The catamaran Beowulf responded and helped the Brandy Belle yacht to safety following the call at 4.07pm yesterday.
Officers from Poole Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to meet with the yacht and offer safety advice to its four occupants.
Portland Coastguard sent the Poole Lifeboat to help a four metre rigid-hulled inflatable boat with three people aboard that had suffered engine failure yesterday lunchtime in the Wareham Channel, Poole Harbour.
The boat was towed to Parkstone Bay Marina.
