You will go to the ball - the cast of Weymouth's Christmas panto is announced
THEATRE-GOERS will be going to, as well as having, a ball this Christmas thanks to Weymouth’s latest pantomime.
Newcomers Ron Martin Management are bringing Cinderella to the Pavilion from December 12 to January 5 and are promising a festive show full of family fun and at an affordable price.
Ron, a former stand-up comedian with a lifetime in show business, said: “We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to be coming to Weymouth with Cinderella. It is a traditional show, perfect for the family and we are keeping the ticket prices low so it is affordable for everyone.
“There will be lots of audience participation and boos and hisses and before the curtain goes up we will have Father Christmas, jugglers and children’s entertainers in the theatre to keep people happy.”
Mr Martin added: “When I worked as a comedian I used to do shows at the Pavilion and it is a wonderful, beautiful building and we are delighted to be here.”
The cast of Cinderella is made up of professionals, with Juliette Longworth-Dean in the title role, Steve Richie and Buttons, Paul Cammack at the prince, Lee Redwood and Chris Carr as Ugly Sisters Fannie and Annie, Christopher James as Dandini and Gabriella Grace Elliott as the Fairy.
Juliette, who starred as Cinders at the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne last year, said: “I can’t wait for the show to start, we’re all really looking forward to it. When I was a little girl Cinderella was my icon.”
Ugly Sister Fannie, alias Lee Redwood, has been a pantomime dame for 10 years and remembers coming to see Cinderella at the Pavilion when he was a little boy.
He said: “It’s brilliant to be here, now, in Cinderella. ”
Pavilion manager Phil Say said: “We are thrilled and delighted to have Ron Martin management here.”
Cinderella will run from December 12 to January 5. Tickets are £12 plus concessions, available on 01305 783225.
- There are school performances of Cinderella on December 17, 18 and 19.
