Dorset fire service chiefs discuss sharing services
10:38am Tuesday 10th September 2013 in News
FIRE chiefs in Dorset have been discussing sharing services with a neighbouring brigade in order to make savings.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service Chief Fire Officer Darran Gunter went to London yesterday to talk to politicians in London about the future in light of Sir Ken Knight’s review published earlier this year highlighting the scope for fire services to find millions in savings.
Mr Gunter said: “I was invited to give oral evidence to the Select Committee on the Knight Review.
“Staff at both Dorset Fire and Rescue and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue have been working together to establish how we can obtain savings. It goes without saying that our communities would expect us to look for and find all possible savings before we consider adverse changes to our service delivery.”
