PCs welcome mountain bikes

POLICE officers will be pedalling to success following a funding boost.
The donation from Magna Housing has been used to buy two new mountain bikes and support equipment for officers in rural parts of Dorset.
PC Pete More said: “Being visible and accessible within our communities is important to us.
“We know that people like to see us out and about on bicycles as it makes it easier for us to talk to people.”
“The bikes have the added advantage of being able to access areas quickly that aren’t always immediately accessible by cars, whilst also being in easy reach of the community van.”
Community representative for Magna John Coombe said: “We wanted to support this application as it will help provide safer communities by increasing police accessibility and visibility.”
The bikes will be used to cover the Sherborne patch as far as Sandford Orcas, Chetnole, Holwell and Ryme Intrinseca.
