Start filling shoeboxes to make a child smile this Christmas
12:00pm Monday 16th September 2013 in News
WITH only 14 weeks and counting until Christmas, Gill Greenwood from Portland has launched the annual Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal.
Mrs Greenwood has organised this project on the island for several years. She said: “We have to start early to ensure that children in countries suffering from war and want receive these gifts which show them that others are thinking about them.”
Leaflets containing full instructions for the goods which can be included in the boxes and the form which has to be sent with each package are now obtainable from various outlets in Easton including Cards and Celebrations and at Easton and Underhill Methodist Churches’ coffee mornings. The completed boxes can be left at both these churches.
