8:59am Tuesday 17th September 2013 in News
PORTLAND Coastguard received 999 calls about two yachts.
The first yacht was in difficulty south of Christchurch Harbour with a torn mainsail and an anchor jammed to the seabed.
The Mudeford RNLI Inshore Lifeboat was launched yesterday afternoon, and once the yacht was found, crew members towed the vessel back into the harbour.
Elsewhere, a member of the public called 999 yesterday afternoon after becoming concerned about a yacht off Seaton, Devon.
A VHF transmission confirmed that everyone on board the yacht was okay.
