Memory loss help at hospital event
1:00pm Wednesday 18th September 2013 in News
AN EVENT is being held at the Dorset County Hospital Dorchester about memory loss.
Patrick Dignam and Lisa Holmes, Age UK memory advisors for the Dorchester area, will be in the Damers Restaurant on Wednesday October 9 from noon to 2pm.
It is open to anyone who is concerned about their own or another’s memory.
The Memory Advisory Service is jointly funded by Dorset County Council and NHS Dorset and is delivered by Age UK Dorchester.
It employs 14 memory advisors across Dorset, excluding Bournemouth and Poole which have their own service.
The service has been running for over a year and has supported nearly 1,000 people with memory loss as well as their carers by providing information, advice, guidance and signposting. The memory advisors can spend time with people and can make home visits.
Anyone who is unable to get to Dorset County Hospital can find out more by contacting the main office in Dorchester on 01305 263113.
