PEOPLE in Dorset are being urged to enter a contest to help the 7,500 rheumatoid arthritis sufferers in the county.
The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) is giving people the chance to win cash prizes of up to £25,000 by joining the Unity Lottery.
An estimated 7,500 people in Dorset live with the disease, many of whom are young people.
Tracey Hancock, director of development at NRAS, said: “We are delighted to be joining with Unity Lottery to raise funds for NRAS and give our supporters a chance to win a generous prize too. “We rely on fundraising activities such as this to ensure we can continue to reach all those who come to us for information and support.”
The onset of rheumatoid arthritis normally occurs when people are between the ages of 40 and 60.
The NRAS says it is not the old age disease that many people assume it to be.
Unity Lottery organisation, operated by Sterling Management, is already helping more than 250 charities raise money across the UK.
