COASTGUARD ROUND-UP: Yacht faces difficulty in Lyme Bay
COASTGUARDS were tasked after a yacht suffered engine failure in Lyme Bay.
The vessel ‘Windveer’, which had one man on board, was on passage from Exmouth to Poole when the incident happened.
Rescue teams were called at 5.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
The yacht was helped through the harbour by Sea Start before continuing on its journey.
Earlier yesterday, a power boat suffered engine failure near Poole Quay.
Coastguards were called at around 2.45pm by nearby RIB ‘Puddleduck’.
The broken down boat ‘Crazy Frog’, which had three people on board, was assisted by Poole Harbour Launch.
Elsewhere, coastguards were alerted to a kayaker in difficulty off Sidmouth Beach, Devon.
On arrival, the kayaker was found to have been fishing and all was well.
The incident happened at 5.20pm yesterday.
