COASTGUARD ROUND-UP: Boat with engine failure towed to safety

A BOAT with engine failure was towed to safety off the Dorset coast.
Portland Coastguard received a radio distress call yesterday morning to report the 30-foot motor cruiser Who Dares had engine failure 400m south of St Albans Head.
Swanage RNLI lifeboat towed the vessel to Swanage harbour.
Yesterday evening coastguards were alerted to a white flare seen at Wareham in the direction of Hamworthy, Poole Harbour.
No other reports came in so no action was taken.
There was a report of a windsurfer having difficulties at Poole Harbour yesterday morning but they managed to make it to shore safely.
Portland Coastguard monitored Cypriot merchant vessel Patriot after it reported engine problems in the Channel yesterday evening.
The problem was resolved and the vessel, with seven people onboard, continued on its way to Pozzallo, Sicily.
Coastguards were called by police after a man walked into the sea at Exmouth yesterday evening but he was recovered while the call was being taken.
