Man brands sexual offence allegations against him as 'utter rubbish'
10:50am Wednesday 25th September 2013 in News
A MAN accused of serious sexual offences has called allegations against him ‘utter rubbish.’ Martin Hodder is charged with three counts of a serious sexual offence, two of which are alleged to have happened in Bridport in the 1970s and 1980s.
Appearing at Dorchester Crown Court, 53 year-old Hodder, of Bell Road, Andover, Hampshire, denied any wrongdoing. He said: “I never did it, simple as that.”
Prosecuting, Stephen Parish, said: “There’s no point me asking you questions on and on because the fact of the matter is he says you assaulted him three times and you say you didn’t.”
Hodder replied: “That is correct.”
He said he never went to the area where the two counts in Bridport are alleged to have taken place. On Monday the court heard that the alleged victim was prompted to come forward after he saw the sentencing of a man in a similar case in the Dorset Echo.
The jury is expected to retire to consider its verdict today.
