Dorset Architectural Heritage Week success
3:00pm Saturday 28th September 2013 in News
ORGANISERS of the Dorset Architectural Heritage Week say the 20th anniversary event was a huge success.
With more than 200 individual events spread across nine days earlier this month, thousands of visitors explored and enjoyed the county’s rich architectural history.
From eco-homes in Dorchester and Bridport, to magnificent properties such as Lulworth Castle, Sherborne Abbey and Deans Court, a number of venues across Dorset opened their doors to show what the county has to offer in terms of architecture, history and heritage.
Event manager Ian Utley was keen to praise the efforts and goodwill of the many volunteers who led events, none of whom received a penny for their hard work.
He said: “Thank you to all the owners, experts, volunteers and guardians who took part this year.”
The 2014 Dorset Architectural Heritage Week will be from September 10 to 18.
Further updates can be found throughout the year on the website dahw.org.uk
