COASTGUARD ROUND-UP: Two yachts face difficulty in Poole Harbour
COASTGUARDS and lifeboat teams were tasked after two yachts came into difficulty in Poole Harbour.
The owner of vessel ‘Reginald’ alerted rescue teams at around 4.30pm yesterday afternoon.
He had run aground while trying to reach a mooring in the Wareham Channel after mistaking another small channel for one leading to the town.
A jet ski from Poole Harbour freed him and helped him on his way.
The Poole Harbour Launch then towed the yacht to Ridge Wharf, Wareham.
Later yesterday afternoon, RNLI lifeboat crews monitored the progress of vessel ‘Hobie-Cat’ with two people on board.
It has lost wind while heading back to Shore Road in Poole at 5pm yesterday.
The boat made it to shore unaided.
