The Dorset Echo has been shortlisted for two prestigious media awards.
Rachael Burnett has been shortlisted for Newcomer of the Year and the Echo’s appeal to support the families of the Purbeck Isle fishing tragedy is also up for Community Campaign of the Year in the EDF Energy London and the South of England Media Awards.
The awards, now in their ninth year, saw 347 entries across 20 categories.
They aim to honour the best in journalism across London, Dorset, Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, East and West Sussex and Kent.
Tim McCoy, EDF Energy’s Head of Media Relations, said: “We’re delighted to once again be supporting regional journalism in London and the South of England. The standard of entries was high across the board and I’m sure the awards ceremony will be a great occasion. Well done to all those made it to this year’s shortlists.”
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony later this month.
