CONDOR Ferries’ Weymouth open day raised hundreds of pounds for a good cause.
The company collected £500 for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust with its open day at the town’s harbour.
More than 2,000 visitors boarded the Vitesse and made donations to the Joseph Weld Hospice during the fundraising event in July.
Alicia Andrews, sales and marketing director at Condor Ferries, thanked everyone for their generosity and said the company is proud to support such a worthy cause.
She said: “We’re delighted to be back operating our services from Weymouth and working in the local community. “We would like to thank all the visitors to our open day, it was their generous contributions which have made it possible for us present this cheque to Weldmar today.
“We know how important Weldmar Hospicecare is to the people of Dorset, and we are proud, as a local business ourselves, to support that.”
The open day was held in Weymouth to celebrate the return of Condor Ferries to operating regular sailings from the town.
Jon Panton, business fundraising manager at Weldmar, said: “It is good to see the return of this successful company to Weymouth and we hope that the relationship enjoyed between Condor Ferries and Weldmar Hospicecare will continue long into the future.
“Fundraising initiatives such as the recent open day help us to continue to provide our care across Dorset.”
