1:24pm Friday 4th October 2013 in News
CHARITY Greenpeace are asking people to join them in a global day of solidarity.
Tomorrow (Sat 5) there will be two events, one in Dorchester and one in Weymouth, as part of the charity’s Global Solidarity Day.
As part of the day local Greenpeace volunteers will be campaigning in support of the 28 Greenpeace activists and two freelance journalists who were recently charged with piracy by Russian authorities.
The campaigners will be collecting messages of support for the thirty on white paper doves to send to Murmansk in northern Russia where the activists are being held.
The event in Dorchester is being held at the Town Pump in South Street from 9.30am-10.30am, and the Weymouth event will be held between 7pm – 8pm at Hope Square.
