Successful former manager of Lyme's Marine Theatre dies, aged 79

A FORMER manager of the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis during one of its most successful periods has died.
John Cozens, 79, died at the Williton Community Hospital on Sunday, September 22.
Born and educated in Lyme Regis, Mr Cozens was a popular member of the community and played for Lyme Regis Football Club for several seasons in the 1950s.
Mr Cozens was manager of the theatre during the 1960s when it was the venue for young people’s Saturday night fun featuring top groups and jazz bands.
He also featured star-studded wrestling.
Mr Cozens also worked for local building firms, before moving to Somerset soon after his marriage to Patsy.
His cremation will take place in Taunton.
