10:00am Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
FAMILIES celebrated the change of name from Sluice Gardens to Greenhill Play Gardens in Weymouth.
Chalet holders are forming a friends group and are urging people to join up.
Sue Bray, from the play gardens said: “The 22 chalets were built in 1960. To get them to an acceptable standard we need the help of tradesman.
“We will be forming a ‘friends’ group for the Greenhill Play Gardens anybody interested in helping please call me.”
In 1902 Sir Frederic Johnstone gave three plots of land to the borough: Greenhill Gardens, Greenhill Gardens North, the sluice gardens, and The Rose Gardens at Westerhall. A covenant says they shall be ‘maintained as an enclosed shrubbery or garden’.
