FIREFIGHTERS cut two women from a car following a collision on the West Stafford bypass in the early hours of this morning.
Two crews from Dorchester attended the scene and found two people trapped in a vehicle at approximately 1am.
Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle and released the two trapped by 1.30am.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We had a call from a member of the public reporting two people trapped in a car on the West Stafford bypass.
"Two women were trapped following a single vehicle collision in which it is believed they swerved to avoid a pedestrian.
"There was a road closure put in place on the West Stafford junction with Lower Bockhampton.
"One woman was checked over by an ambulance. Both women sustained back pain and neck ache following the collision."
The car involved was a blue Renault Clio registered to a Dorchester woman. It was recovered at 2.06am and the road was then reopened.
