Coastguard rescue helicopter called after young biker knocked unconscious
THE coastguard rescue helicopter was called after reports that a 14-year-old mountain biker had been knocked unconscious.
At shortly after 6pm last night, the Southwestern Ambulance Service called for assistance from the Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 106 via the Air Rescue Coordination Centre at Kinloss.
The helicopter was tasked to assist in the extraction of an injured mountain biker from a difficult location close to Bridport.
A spokesperson for Portland Coastguard said: “It is believed the mountain biker was a 14-year-old boy who had been knocked unconscious and also suffered a nose fracture.
“The helicopter was tasked because the biker was reportedly south of Loders near Bridport, which is quite an isolated location.”
