Sailor rescued by lifeboat

A 73-YEAR-old man was rescued by the lifeboat after he was hit by the boom aboard a yacht.
The Weymouth Sailing Club safety boat alerted coastguards of the incident via the VHF channel.
The man is believed to be a crew member aboard one of the racing yachts in Weymouth Bay yesterday morning.
He was taken to shore and treated by paramedics but did not require further treatment.
