Extended prison time for inmates who went on rampage
10:00am Tuesday 15th October 2013 in News
THREE inmates who went on a five-hour rampage at a Dorset prison will spend added time behind bars.
Nathan Paul Addicott, Nigel John Saunders and Billy Ray Barclay caused £13,567 of damage when they climbed on to the roof at Guys Marsh prison and tore bits from the building.
Days later Barclay, aged 25, also committed common assault when he threw urine in a prison officer’s face.
All three defendants were sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, consecutive to the sentences they are already serving.
Addicott, aged 23, has eight convictions for 14 offences, whilst Saunders, aged 26, has 23 convictions for 59 offences.
Judge Roger Jarvis told Barclay, in prison for attempted robbery and assault of a police officer, that his actions towards the prisoner officer were ‘disgusting’. He was given an added two months for the assault.
