Weymouth tot’s ride on time with TV ad
DANCE and reggae music are top of the playlist for a Weymouth dancing tot set for superstardom.
Little Lucas Reddick-Hill, from Weymouth, grooved, bounced and jived his way into judges’ hearts to win a place in a new advert for baby company Cow & Gate.
The new ad will be aired on TV on Saturday night during X–Factor.
Proud mum Laura Reddick said Lucas, who will be two in November, loves to dance, bouncing and bopping all day from the early hours.
She said: “He has always loved dancing. As soon as he wakes up he comes down the stairs and turns the music on and dances around.”
Mum and baby live with Laura’s parents, Harry and Mandy Reddick, and Lucas gets everyone involved in the dance sessions.
Laura said: “His granddad always dances with him. He teaches Lucas dance moves – it’s so cute.”
Lucas loves all kinds of music but especially dance music and reggae. Mum Laura said he liked the song the company chose for the video – Black Box’s Ride On Time.
Lucas and the other finalists were chosen from more than 3,500 video clips sent into the Dance Dance Baby contest to find stars for its latest campaign.
The videos were edited together to make the final advert.
Laura said it was a shock to be chosen as one of the finalists. She said: “I’m still in shock. All the little babies did so well.”
Her face lit up when she saw the video she said and pointed the ad out to Lucas.
She said: “As soon as he sees it now he starts dancing and saying ‘baby’.”
Lucas features twice in the 30-second ad, at the beginning and the end wearing a blue top and dancing with a brush.
Bruce Newman from Cow & Gate said: “We love to celebrate the amazing personalities of the UK’s little ones, and what better way to let them express themselves than through dance?
“Lucas really danced his way into our hearts and we think he will have viewers boogying too."
