Charity fair at castle
MORE than 1,000 happy shoppers descended on Lulworth Castle for a charity fair.
The annual Country House Fair event saw the old castle filled with craft stalls of every description from clothes and homemade goodies to early Christmas ideas or decorations to revamp the home.
The event was in aid of the Dorset branch of the British Red Cross.
Sunshine bathed the site for the event and visitors were able to sit outside and enjoy a spot of tea and refreshments after a hard days shopping.
Special guest of the day was Hazel Hibbs who, having celebrated her 90th birthday the day before, went shopping as a birthday treat.
The cash is still being counted before a total is announced.
Curator of the event, Sally Weld, said they had a record number of people visiting the charity fair this year.
She said: “I would just like to thank everyone for coming along and supporting the event, we were thrilled to see so many people from all over the county.”
She added: “As an annual event, it is super to see it getting bigger.”
