Spooky goings on in Weymouth
THE Weymouth Business Improvement District (BID) has put together a town centre spooktacular.
The Weymouth Witch Hunt takes place between October 26 and November 2 and is the BID’s first event.
The BID was voted in earlier this year to increase the number of visitors and shoppers to the town centre.
Nearly 50 businesses in the town centre have agreed to take part in the hunt.
Halloween hunters are asked to find scary witches and beastly bats in Weymouth shops and businesses.
Nigel Reed, Weymouth BID manager, said: “We have had a great response from Weymouth businesses and they are really getting into the spirit of the event by organising special offers and events in their own establishments.”
The Weymouth BID is also hosting a Spooktacular Halloween Fun Day on Saturday, November 2, between 11am and 5pm in New Bond Street and throughout the town. People can take part in the witch hunt by downloading a witch hunt application form from the Weymouth BID website weymouthbid.co.uk or by picking up a form from any of the participating businesses.
Entry to the Witch Hunt is free and prizes will be awarded on November 2. Three winners will be picked to receive cash or store vouchers to the value of £35 for first place, £25 for second place and £15 for third place.
The Weymouth BID is also involved in organising the revamped Victorian Shownight in Weymouth which will be held on Friday, December 6.
