Film producer over the moon
A film produced by a Weymouth woman will premiere next month.
Stephanie Moon is celebrating now all her hard-work on ‘Love Tomorrow’ has paid off.
It is set to be distributed in London at Sadler’s Wells on November 6 and at Bournemouth Pavilion Dance Theatre on November 11 by Soda Pictures.
Awarded Best UK Feature at Raindance 2012, the film will make its release premiere screening where indie film fans, dancers and local media will view the film. The talented producer grew up in Weymouth and began her career as a dancer.
She said: “Having the film screened in my home county is very close to my heart. We wanted to use the dance element to tell the story in an original way that did not feel contrived.”
She trained at London Studio Centre before later going on to study television and film production.
She added: “Dancers are used to a very theatrical style of acting and we are proud of the natural performances given by both Cindy and Arionel.
“I’m very excited about the Bournemouth screening and hope it will make an impact on local film-lovers.”
Set in present day London, ‘Love Tomorrow’ is the story of an ex-ballet dancer whose life is turned upside down after receiving devastating news. Wandering the underground in a torment of pain and confusion, a chance encounter with a charismatic Cuban dancer, Oriel offers a temporary distraction. The secrets and wounds of their lives emerge, and a fragile friendship evolves.
The film was choreographed and co-produced by Emmy-Award winning film-makers Michael Nunn and Billy Trevitt. It features Begoña Cao, Miguel Altunaga, Max Brown, Samuel Barnett and John McArdle.
