THE CATTISTOCK First Responders’ Quiz held recently in the Fox and Hounds was very well supported and raised much-needed funds for the organisation.

The winning team on this occasion was The Old Paulines and congratulations go to them for a splendid score. Thanks go to Liz and Scott for providing the venue and to our quiz master, Neil Rowland, for another excellent quiz and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. THERE are still a few tickets remaining for the Children of Fiji charity Indian meal at the Viceroy Restaurant in Yeovil on Monday, November 11.

The cost is £10 per person for a 3-course meal and all that money will go to help disadvantaged children in Fiji. Please get in touch with us for further details or to book a place.

MELBURY MEN’s Breakfast will hold their next meeting on Saturday, November 16|, when the speaker will be Andy Bowerman on ‘Working in an Islamic Country’.

Meetings are held at the Southern Counties Shooting Club Cafe on Wardon Hill (A37), starting at 8.30am and finishing at around 9.45am. The cost of the breakfast is £7. THE NOW legendary Rampisham Quiz will take place on Saturday, November 16. The format is as usual with a maximum of 6 members per team and a spread of wonderful food! This is a very popular event and tables are limited, so please ring Rodger on 01935 83488 or Jim on 01935 83555 to book your place.

SARAH, our local Police Community Support Officer will be in the Fox and Hounds, Cattistock, between midday and 1pm on Tuesday November 19 and in the Coffee Shop in Maiden Newton on the last Tuesday of the month (Tuesday, November 26). STRATTON and Bradford Peverell WI will hold its next meeting on Thursday, November 21. Neil Lovesey from Picket Lane Nursery will talk about ‘12 months of Colour’.

FRAMPTON Village Hall Christmas Fair takes place on Saturday, November 23. This year the hours have been extended and the event will run from 10am to 4pm.

Stalls will include toys, games, books and Christmas gifts, as well as a grand raffle and an auction of local talent in the form of paintings, photographs and stitch work.

There will be a cookery demonstration of a wide range of tasty dishes with samples for tasting. The demonstration costs £2.50, which includes the entrance fee of £1 to the fair. Please contact Maureen Stephens on 01300 320730 for advance tickets.

Between 2 and 2.30pm there will be entertainment in the form of carols by ladies from a Dorchester choir.

Refreshments will be available, including teas, coffee, light lunches, sandwiches and home made cakes.
