Final units let at Weymouth business park
THE first phase of a major new Weymouth business park is complete with the final two units being let.
Dozens of jobs have been created at Link Park so far, with around 100 more expected through phase two of the development.
Euro Car Parts have taken on the last two units at the Chickerell site.
Mickey Jones, chief executive of park developers DJ Property, said: “Phase one has let quickly and I am very proud of the companies who have chosen to come to Link Park including Euro Car Parts who have joined Halfords Autocentre, Topps Tiles, Toolstation and Screwfix. “These are some of the UK’s leading companies and present on the better business parks nationwide. DJ Property as a trusted, professional developer of commercial property continues to build long-term relationships with many local, national and international businesses. “The next phase of development at Link Park, seven more high quality business units, will build on these relationships with expanding local businesses. It is hoped that phase two of Link Park will attract up to 100 jobs when fully let.”
Almost 100 per cent of the units on the Granby Industrial Estate, Lynch Lane Industrial Estate and Link Park are currently occupied, which is the highest level in six years.
Mr Jones added: “We are entering a period of intense business growth and development after some quieter years.”
Natasha Hicks, managing director of online gift retailer Mollie & Fred, recently moved the business to Granby Court.
She said: “The past six months have been amazing. This is our third move in four years and at the rate we are growing, we anticipate another move to larger premises within the next two years.
“It is therefore reassuring to know that as our property requirements change we can upscale without the need to change our landlord.”
Plan moves on to phase two
PLANNING permission has been submitted for phase two of Link Park.
Mr Jones said: “The second phase will consist of units measuring between 1,500sq ft and 2,500sq ft and will be particularly attractive to local small to medium sized businesses looking to expand their business into high quality new commercial space.
“The units will be of market leading quality and are very visible from the busy Chickerell Link Road.”
