Be spooked at Weymouth's Sandworld
10:31am Thursday 31st October 2013 in News
SPOOKY sand sculptures will be on show this half term at Weymouth Sandworld.
The attraction at Lodmoor Country Park is holding a special Halloween event running until November 3.
There will be free admission for children in Halloween fancy dress and prizes for the best costumes. There will also be a sand pumpkin carving competition Sandworld manager Vicky Bray, said: “This Halloween, Sandworld is raising money for the Myasthenia Gravis Association, which is a charity that has been chosen by employee Nick Alford, in memory of his grandfather. Children that come to Sandworld in Halloween fancy dress gain free admission and will be entered into our fancy dress competition.
“There will also be Halloween silliness and fun to be had with Vickity-Boo and the Gremlins. We have a Dalek onsite for photo opportunities, a sand pumpkin carving competition and much more.
“Halloween at Sandworld is always extra special for the team here; it’s the end of our season and this year we have a lot to celebrate.
“We have raised almost £1,000 for various charities and brought home a Bronze Award from the Dorset Tourism Awards. We close our gates for the season this Sunday so hurry down and see our amazing sand sculptures.”
There will also be a ‘spooky time’ event from noon until 2pm every day throughout the event, with fun and laughter from Vickity Boo and the Gremlins.
