WEYMOUTH Cricket Club is on the road to recovery and encouraging any new young players to get along to indoor training at Wey Valley School on Monday evenings.
The sessions allow youngsters the chance to have a go at the game and develop their skills to a high level, with all equipment provided.
ECB coach Hugh Lawes, often assisted by Weymouth first-team captain and son Matt, trains boys and girls in Years Three to Six from 5pm, before fellow ECB coach Gerald Marchant coaches Year 7 pupils from 6pm.
With the Ashes already well underway it is hoped children will be interested in giving cricket a try and train throughout the winter so they can develop the skills to enable them to represent Weymouth Youth CC next the summer.
A number of teams also represent Weymouth in the Osprey Indoor League over the winter.
The training sessions will run every Monday at Wey Valley School until the end of March.
For further details call Hugh Lawes on 07747011730 or just turn up on a Monday evening. The cost is £2 per session.
