POLICE are searching for a 62-year-old man who has gone missing.

Officers say they are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Phillip Guppy from Bridport.

A search is underway around Bridport and West Bay involving a helicopter and tracker dogs.

Mr Guppy was last seen in the Crown pub at West Bay at around 11pm on Sunday, December 1.

It is believed that he left the pub to walk home to Alexandra Road but has not been seen since.

Mr Guppy is white, 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build, with black balding hair. He wears black metal framed glasses. When he was last seen he was dressed in a white shirt, possibly with a thin strip, blue jeans, a thin blue zip-up jacket and a flat cap.

Sergeant Trevor Cross of Bridport police said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Phillip and need to establish his whereabouts.

“His disappearance is completely out of character.

“I am appealing for anyone with any information to Mr Guppy’s whereabouts to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 02:161.
