POLICE are hunting thieves who stole a family pet.
The incident happened between midnight and 1am on Sunday December 1 from the garden of an address on Queens Road, Bradford Abbas.
The dog is a lurcher called Scamp, and is described as nearly three years old, black all over with a white patch on his chest.
Police Constable Simon Lancey, of Sherborne police, said: “Scamp was stolen from an enclosure in the garden. He is a much loved pet and his owners are distraught at his loss.
“I have their permission to release some photos to help with the investigation. If anyone has knowledge regarding the whereabouts of Scamp, I urge them to contact the police as soon as possible.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have information about those responsible to come forward.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour in the area on that evening.”
