DORCHESTER’S former Rotary Club president raised £4,500 for women and children in need.
Andy Davies decided to take on a sponsored coast to coast walk in celebration of his 70th birthday for the West Dorset Women’s Refuge.
The money was presented to Refuge president Molly Rennie by Rotary president Ian Dominy, who has made the service his charity of choice.
The refuge has helped more than 350 women and their children over the last 16 years.
Rotarians from a number of clubs gave the refuge a boost when they joined forces to clean and paint it.
