Cash boost for friendship club

FRIENDSHIP has been given a boost this Christmas with a donation to a local group by the Weymouth Rotary Club.

On November 27 the president of the Rotary club, Mike Parker, presented a cheque of £500 to the Park 50 plus Friendship Club. The donation will go towards funding the friendship club’s Christmas meal.

Andrew Prowse, community committee chairman of the Rotary Club of Weymouth, said: “The Friendship club is a great local club which helps the elderly at Christmas and makes them feel less lonely because they have somewhere to go.
