ENGINEERS are working to restore power to homes in Charminster that suffered a blackout.
A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Electric (SSE) said just under 100 homes in the village lost power at around 2.15pm after a fault with an overhead line in the area.
Streets affected included Mill Lane, East Hill and Cocklands.
A spokesman for SSE said power had been restored to all but around 30 homes and the company was hopeful of restoring the supply to those by around 5.30pm.
He said: “We would like to apologise to our customers for any annoyance or inconvenience this has caused and we are doing everything we can to get it back on.”
