It has been announced that First's Service 47 which runs between Bridport to Yeovil via Beaminster and Crewkerne has been saved by Dorset County Council.

First was due to withdraw the service in the New Year because it was becoming increasingly unviable to run. Dorset County Council has now stepped in and the service will now be run under contract to the local authority until June 2014 initially.

Commenting on the decision, Dervla McKay, General Manager for First Dorset says: “We very much appreciate Dorset County Council offering its support in helping us to continue this service.

"We hope its re-introduction will prompt more people to start using it again to ensure we can keep it running for the foreseeable future.”
