A MOTHER and son have been jailed for supplying drugs at a Dorset prison.

Sharon Kennedy, 43, and Joshua Milkins, 23, each pleaded guilty to five offences relating to the supply and possession with intent to supply of class A, B and C drugs.

Dorchester Crown Court heard how on February 17 this year, Sharon Kennedy was seen on CCTV handing over a package to Joshua Milkins while visiting him at HMP Guys Marsh near Shaftesbury.

The package was later found to contain controlled drugs and mobile phone SIM cards.

Sharon Kennedy was sentenced to two years in prison.

Joshua Milkins received a 40-month custodial sentence.

Both are from Bristol.

Speaking after the case, Detective Constable Ian Frizzle of the Major Organised Crime Unit said: “These convictions and sentences send a clear message that these crimes are not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

Dorset Police, in partnership with HM Prison Service, is committed to stamping out this type of offending.

“We will continue to work closely together to bring offenders to justice.”
