A CAR parts business is the last company to throw its support behind the Echo Toy Appeal.

JMC Auto Salvage, based in Piddlehinton, has generously donated £100 to this year’s campaign which will help provide toys for underprivileged children in Dorset this Christmas.

Company owner John Crabb said he felt inspired to donate to the appeal after seeing the Echo’s editorial coverage over the last few years.

He added: “I felt that this year it was time for me to add my donation and do my bit for the Toy Appeal.

“Here at JMC Auto Salvage we’re very pleased to give our backing to the appeal and we hope it brings children who may be underprivileged or families who may struggling happiness this Christmas.

“The appeal is about giving something back at Christmas time and is a fantastic cause for the community.”

Almost £4,000 was raised last year and thousands of new toys were donated to underprivileged children across Dorset to open on Christmas Day.

Last year sacks of presents filled the office before social workers and carers took them to deliver to needy children.

All the gifts collected will go to children who may have suffered neglect, abuse or are living in refugees with their mothers. Many are in the care of families who simply cannot afford to buy them something special for Christmas.
