SENTIMENTAL items were lost when a handbag was stolen.

Police are appealing for witnesses after thieves stole a handbag from a vehicle in Moreton.

An unattended blue Land Rover Defender 90 was broken into between 1.10pm and 3.20pm on Saturday, December 28.

The vehicle was parked on the track leading to the ford in the village.

A brown Mulberry satchel handbag containing a brown Mulberry purse and Mulberry filofax were stolen.

PC Adam Bayliss, of Weymouth police, said: “The items that were stolen were of high value and included photos of a sentimental value to the owner.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the theft, or has information about those responsible or the whereabouts of the items to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered such items for sale in strange circumstances or for an unusually low price.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101.
