SOUTH Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust has reappointed its chairman, Heather Strawbridge.
Mrs Strawbridge will now serve in the post until the end of February 2017.
As part of her role Mrs Strawbridge will lead the trust’s board, which has undergone significant changes in the past few months since it acquired its neighbouring trust – the former Great Western Ambulance Service. Her reappointment was confirmed by the trust’s council of governors, which they say will mean that Mrs Strawbridge can ‘continue to embrace the challenges of delivering high quality care to patients across the south west region’.
Adrian Rutter, a member of the remuneration and recommendation panel that confirmed the reappointment, said: “With her high national profile and extensive knowledge of the public and private sector and the ambulance service Heather was the ideal choice to continue leading the trust.”
Mrs Strawbridge said she was ‘very pleased’ to have been given the chance to lead the trust.
